LOS ANGELES, CA -- MARVIN Media and Porsche Cars North America, Inc., are teaming up for another episode of Sound and Driven, a series of short films featuring some of music’s most respected artists and producers as they take their records on the legendary car test, in a Porsche Taycan Turbo. The series follows a long tradition of artists taking their records out for the car test to ensure each aspect of production is hitting just right.

Sound and Driven
follows a carefully curated selection of artists and producers on a journey around Los Angeles in an all-electric Porsche Taycan Turbo to give new insights into the writing and production process of some of the world’s most popular artists. We share a unique behind-the-scenes look at the creative process, the circumstances in which each record was created, and the collaborations that made them so special. There are also unique technical insights from producers and insights into why the car test is such a valuable part of the creative process.

For the eighth episode of Sound and Driven, Porsche invites us to join artists Chase Atlantic who discuss writing their record Beauty in Death during the pandemic and the intimacy and immediacy of hearing the record in new environments, including the privacy of the Porsche.
As band member Mitchel Cave noted “Studio playbacks can come at the end of a stagnant day, and there’s only so much atmosphere your headphones can deliver. But nothing beats the car test,” Mitchel continues. “You got the visuals, you can turn it as loud as you want, you know what I mean? I think that’s the passion for music. The car test is as critical as it gets, pretty much the final stage of music-making. Especially if you drive a nice little Porsche. Joel Madden lent me his for a week and the sound system was phenomenal!”

Marvin Scott Jarrett, co-founder of MARVIN Media and executive producer of Sound and Driven, says: “We are excited about collaborating with Porsche Cars North America on the Sound and Driven series. Chase Atlantic as artists and producers are the perfect artists to highlight in Sound and Driven Episode 8.”

Each of the eight 10-minute episodes within the series will be featured on the Porsche Brand Hub and social media channels (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook) with a reach of 37M+, along with MARVIN’s website, YouTube, and social media channels.

Executive Producers: Marvin Scott Jarrett, Geoff Cottrill, Gary Koepke, and Porsche Cars North America
